What I like most is being able to answer my own questions! If you’re curious about something in science that being a scientist means you can investigate all those exciting questions. You also get to learn some pretty cool skills, such as coding!

I totally agree with Isabel, I like being able to explore whatever questions I want to explore, and to find out things no one else in the world knows about. It’s a bit cheesy but I also really like to know that the work I do in my job can actually make a difference in the world, it might be a small difference but it’s a difference.

I agree! I definitely like how much I love my job, I feel like I make an impact with what I do and its a very wholesome feeling. It is a very hands-on learning experience and I am constantly being taught or teaching someone else how to do things. It is a really rewarding career path.

I love being able to share what I have learnt with other people. I also love to hear what other people have done and learn from them!

I get to work with so many different people in different jobs from all over the world. Everyone has something new to share and it’s so cool to be a part of that!

My favourite part is getting to work with lots of different people (and sometimes animals). I am always having to work as part of a team. Sometimes that includes other scientists but often it includes people who don’t know much science and so I am there to help them understand it.

I’m with Isabel on this, the most fun is to be able to work on my own questions or projects, and since I work with computers and data, programming something fancy is one of the most rewarding moments for me. Then seeing how that impacts other areas, or helps address some other problems, it is just the icing on the cake.

I think the thing I like most is that with science, when you do something it’s real. If you write a book, that can be great but it’s all made up. With science, you’re finding out real answers to real questions, and wherever I go in the world it will be the same answer.

I enjoy learning new things, and being a scientist means that I get to do this every day, and really think hard about how to use what I know to discover even more.

I like thinking that my work could help people in real life. Also working in science means working as a big worldwide team with other scientists. Every small bit of work you do could help other scientists and eventually everyone working together will lead to real change!

My favourite part of the job is that I get to be creative in what I do.
I get to think outside the box and develop new technologies and answer question that people might not know about yet!

Getting to answer those questions and make a positive change in people’s lives is very exciting!

I like the buzz I get when I find a solution to someone’s problem, and give them a way to see the things happening inside their material. Often people don’t know what is possible and so only ask for the most basic of information – I love the look on their faces when they realise what might be possible and start to get all excited about it.
