I currently work on malaria, a severe disease caused by a tiny parasite that is carried from one person to another by mosquitoes. I look at how warm and wet a place is can lead to outbreaks of malaria. I also explore how the land around us is used and exploited, e.g. deforestation and how this also causes malaria to spread. My work takes me to South America, where malaria is a big problem! I am also interested in climate change and how this could cause new diseases to spread.
