Hi there, I used to want to be a vet too, and my cousin has just become a vet so maybe I can help!

You are definitely asking the right questions, because you need to do quite a lot of work experience. I think working in a kennel is a great idea to get started! It will be a good idea too to try and get other experience with animals in different environments, like on a farm, in a wildlife sanctuary and in veterinary practices too if you can.

Good luck! I’m sure you will make a great vet 🙂

I think it definitely would look good on your cv! It will show you were proactive in getting experience and also that you are caring and interested in animals.

Definitely! It would give you experience working with animals, which is always a benefit if you want to work with them for a career!

I’m sure it will. Any work experience is always a bonus and if it is with animals then even better!

Yes definitely! When I was in secondary school I did work experience at a vet and it was really fun. However after the experience I decided being a vet wasn’t for me. Getting lots of experience under your belt can really help you decide what career path is best for you.
