Actually, I have asthma because I have hayfever! Allergies cause your body to respond to protect yourself against them (even when it doesn’t need to). Because of this, my body produces excess mucus and I can struggle to breathe.
While allergies like hayfever (pollen allergy) can cause asthma attacks, the two conditions are separate. Not everyone with asthma also has hayfever, since different things (including dust and smoke) can set off different people’s asthma.
