Most jobs will have some emotional aspects – and everyone has their own coping mechanisms.

I find that taking some time to do something I really love or crafting something (knitting, drawing, painting, sewing) can really help!

If it really becomes an issue, it’s always worth looking for support. Sometimes it will be available through work – especially if you work for the Police etc.

I think all jobs are emotional in some way, sometimes because it can be stressful. To cope with it, you have to find that thing that you really love to do outside of work and make the time to do it! For me, I love walking in the countryside and reading fiction books.

It really helps to have some kind of support network when you are feeling emotional about work. Don’t ever be afraid to reach out and talk to other people about how you are feeling, like your friends and family.

My job involves dealing with death every day. Some times these people have died in very tragic circumstances and that can be upsetting. I find that if I concentrate on finding out as much as I can from the bones so that I am confident I can identify the person and answer any questions that the family might have about their loved one that helps. The tragedy has already happened and I can use my science to give families closure and hopefully prevent similar things happening again.

Everyone has stressful days (either because of work or because o thing outside work). I think the important thing is to remember this (even when it is you having the bad day) so that you can be as supportive as possible. You might not be abe to help, but you try not to make things worse.
