That’s a really interesting point, and something that I can’t really answer. However, materials on earth are in a limited supply and we have to start looking to recycle and reuse as much as we can. There may come a time when we have to start looking for materials on other planets, but this is very expensive, when small things we can do now may help!!
It would be really cool though! 😀

While it might seem like a good idea to mine for materials on other planets – we would still be using those materials on Earth and would have to deal with the waste from those materials or the products we make with them. Whatever happens we need to be as efficient as possible using all the natural resources as have (materials, energy, water) and find ways to make our wastes useful in another way. Otherwise we could end up running out of food on a very hot, dry, desert like planet covered in a rubbish dump!

It would be very cool if we could but we should also consider making better use of the materials we already have here on earth.
