Hi Peter, we make really advanced radio products which are a bit like special wifi routers – except they are much faster and longer range. For example we can enable a hundred people or more to be watching netflix at a much longer range than normal wifi. Our equipment doesn’t connect directly with phones or computers normally, its more in the network.
I work for a company that makes plastic, but not the sort that goes into plastic bags. Instead, we make a really high-end material that goes into lots of engineering applications; car gear wheels, aeroplane brackets, pipes for oil rigs, smartphone speakers. We also have a department that makes medical implants.
Until you work in an industry, you never really know how important it is and how many places it can be found in (this is not only true of plastics).
